Rec Indoor 2025/2026
Cardinal Soccer Club’s Indoor Rec Program provides players with a fun indoor soccer experience during the winter season. Registration covers Session 2 and 3 (games only) at the Mentor Community Recreational Center Indoor Soccer Facility.
Ages
The program is open to players in divisions U8–U12 and U13 and up, following standard age groups. Players may request to “play up” one year (e.g., U8 may play in U9–10, but not U11–12).
When
The indoor season runs January 3 through April 12, covering Session 2 and Session 3.
Where
All games are held at the Mentor Community Recreational Center Indoor Soccer Facility (6000 Heisley Rd, Mentor, OH 44060).
Practices
There are no team practices scheduled for Indoor Rec. We are actively exploring opportunities for combined age-group practice sessions. Field time is limited and expensive, so practice opportunities are not guaranteed. If we are able to reserve field space, teams will be notified.
Games
Teams typically play weekly games, with a total of 14 games across both sessions (8 in Session 2 and 6 in Session 3). Exact game days and times are released once the facility provides schedules. Timing varies by division.
Jerseys & Equipment
No separate jersey purchase is required. Depending upon the team needs and number of returning players, jerseys will be provided to new players.
Players must provide:
- Indoor, turf, or athletic shoes (no outdoor cleats)
- Soccer socks
- Shin guards
- Soccer ball
- U8–U12: size 4
- U13 and up: size 5
Extra Costs
No team fees beyond basic player equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child play in a different division?
Yes. Division changes are reviewed case-by-case. Register in the standard division, then email lynn.patterson@cardinalsoccerclub.org to request a play-up evaluation. Players may only play up one year.
Can siblings or friends play together?
We do our best to honor teammate requests. Siblings are typically placed together. One friend request may be submitted and will be evaluated. Requests intended to “stack” teams will not be honored.
What if a girls-only division isn’t available?
Girls may register for either girls or coed divisions. If a girls division cannot be formed, players will be placed on the appropriate coed team.
