Trustees

Cardinal's trustees are the volunteer board that runs the club. Trustees meet once a month to conduct business for the club and provide the best possible environment for the families we serve.

  • Determine programming: Make decisions on Cardinal programs based on what players and families need.
  • Oversee the budget: Approve each program's budget and make sure money is spent only in approved ways.
  • Build the team: Appoint coaches, managers, officers and volunteers..
  • Keep play fair and safe: Follow club, league and US Soccer rules, and handle discipline when it's needed.

Available Positions

Registrar

Manages player registration and helps turn registrations into accurate teams and rosters. This role is especially important before each season begins.

  • Set up and manage player registration
  • Monitor registration numbers by age division
  • Assist families with registration questions or issues
  • Coordinate registration information with commissioners and coaches
  • Provide refunds and discount codes


Scheduling Coordinator

Creates and maintains the club’s game and practice schedules. Works with officers, coaches, and field contacts to make the best use of available fields and times.

  • Build season schedules using the scheduler app
  • Manage and approve scheduling requests for practices and games
  • Coordinate field and time availability
  • Manage and communicate rescheduled or postponed games
  • Communicate schedule changes to Referee Coordinator
  • Keep published schedules accurate and up to date


Community Coordinator

Helps strengthen the club’s connection to the broader community. This role can help make the soccer club feel like a true community organization rather than simply a sports league.

  • Build relationships with schools, community groups, and local organizations
  • Identify community events where the club can participate
  • Coordinate club involvement in parades, festivals, or similar activities
  • Look for partnership opportunities with other community organizations


Field Coordinator / Fields

Helps make sure the club’s fields are ready, safe, and properly set up for practices and games. Coordinates field needs throughout the season and helps address problems when they occur.

  • Secure field rights with appropriate city/school officials
  • Coordinate field preparation before each season
  • Check goals, nets, field markings, flags, and other field equipment
  • Line fields using field-lining robot (or coordinate/delegate to other volunteers)
  • Identify and report field or equipment problems
  • Help coordinate field closures or changes due to weather, field conditions, or city/school events

Filled Positions

Rec Coordinators

Serve as the primary point of contact and help keep the program running smoothly throughout the season. Coordinators support coaches and families and help resolve questions or issues as they arise.

  • Assign players to teams during each registration cycle
  • Communicate important information to coaches in their division
  • Answer or route questions about division rules, schedules, and club procedures
  • Help coaches resolve basic issues or bring larger concerns to club leadership


Sponsor Coordinator

Builds relationships with local businesses and organizations that want to support the club. Helps make sponsorship easy for both the sponsor and the club.

  • Recruit new sponsors and maintain relationships with existing sponsors
  • Share sponsorship opportunities and answer sponsor questions
  • Collect sponsor information, logos, and other needed materials
  • Coordinate sponsor recognition on jerseys, signs, social media, or other club materials
  • Collect sponsor payments and track payments in conjunction with Treasurer


Social Media Coordinator

Keeps families and the community connected through social media. Shares useful information while highlighting players, teams, volunteers, and club activities.

  • Create and publish regular social media posts
  • Share registration dates, events, schedule reminders, and club updates
  • Highlight sponsors through social media posts
  • Collect photos and content from coaches and families
  • Follow Cardinal brand standards for content, photography, and imagery


Coaching Education Coordinator

Helps volunteer coaches feel prepared and supported, especially coaches who may be new to soccer or coaching. Provides practical resources that make it easier to run practices and teach the game.

  • Hold one live coaching education session before each season
  • Help onboard new coaches
  • Provide age-appropriate practice ideas, drills, and coaching resources
  • Help coaches understand club rules and expectations
  • Share resources for common coaching questions and situations
  • Serve as a resource for coaches who need additional help


Uniform Coordinator

Manages the club’s jersey process so players and coaches have what they need for the season. Coordinates ordering, organization, and distribution.

  • Determine jersey needs and quantities
  • Coordinate jersey orders with the club’s vendor
  • Collect and organize size information when needed
  • Sort jerseys by team or division
  • Coordinate jersey pickup and distribution
  • Resolve missing, incorrect, or late jersey issues
