Cardinal Soccer Club has a new look
Cardinal Soccer Club is excited to share its new look! You'll start seeing it on the website, in our emails, and on the jerseys your kids will soon be receiving.
Why now?
Cardinal has grown a lot since 2018. We started as Mentor Heisley Soccer Club, a small indoor only soccer club, but today Cardinal is the largest soccer program in Lake County offering rec, travel, and club partnership programs to over 600 kids in the community.
Our previous logo was made for the club we were at the beginning, and candidly, started to feel a lot like most of the other clubs in the area. Our new logo is made for the club we are now, and for the future we’re continuing to build.
The Cardinal
The cardinal is Mentor's bird. It plants our roots in our community. The Cardinal is one of the few birds that doesn't leave for the winter. It's still here in February when almost everything else has gone. That felt right for a club that plays fall, indoor, and spring.
The Cardinal is focused, looking at the ball, ready for action. It’s inviting yet competitive.
The hexagon outline around the Cardinal represents the panel of a soccer ball.
And the whole thing is drawn by hand. Cardinal is run by volunteers. It’s supported by people and organizations in the community. We wanted the brand to be something that looks like it was made by people, just like our club is.
What the new look stands for
The new brand is built on four core principles:
Soccer for Everyone. From scholarships for players in need to boot swaps for growing kids, we work to remove barriers so every kid in this community can play.
Cardinal Pathways. We’ve developed programs fit for everyone from first-time players to more competitive players to those preparing to continue their soccer career in high school.
Building Competitors and Good People. We’re committed to investing in coaching, referees, and the community that supports the development of healthy competition and sportsmanship.
Run Right. We strive to provide transparent budgets, organized club operations, safe environments, and clear communication.
We won't get all of this right every season and we know that. But these principles are what we aim for every game and every season.
We’re incredibly proud of the growth of this club, and we want to thank you for being a part of it!
